The game showers you with health and ammo. Hard mode might make you take more damage and such, but the amount of health and ammo you find everywhere negates it all anyway. The game has two separate difficulties for 'action' and 'puzzle' btw. There are no time limits on puzzles or anything like.

I think this explains the comic sans silent hill sign, clean streets, lack of fog, some sounds being switched around, etc. (Although IIRC the PS2 architecture was the same as the 360 and PS3 I think so maybe they originally started with the PS2 code.)Anyways, while the finished source code was lost, they found the source code for SH2 and SH3, however it was basically an earlier build of the game. You bring up a good point, it's unknown if it was the PS2 or PC source code that was lost.
Oh and we're giving you an unfinished build of the game so not only do you have to fix expected porting bugs, you also have to fix bugs the original dev team already fixed in the finished version, but we lost that build of the game so we gotta give you the pre-alpha. (Here remaster this game for us. I get that Hijinx still screwed up but they were dealt a bad hand. And this SH2 and SH3 remaster was going to be their first big project.I partially blame Hijinx but mostly Konami.
